In the International class 6A, students were excited to learn that the focus for the week in science class is on ecosystems.
Students learnt that the number and types of organisms in an ecosystem depend on the resources available. They also understood that the living and nonliving parts of an ecosystem interact to make life possible.
To conclude the week’s theme, students had time to work in groups outside class to learn how water, sunlight and minerals affect the organisms found in areas around our school. Students investigated two areas around the school one that is exposed to lots of sunlight and another that is covered by bamboo trees. They examined and recorded the differences in the numbers and types of organisms in these two areas.
