树人学校中学部近期成功实施了一项富有教育意义的项目式学习(PBL)课程,该项目由彭敏霞老师主导,主题为“小鸟之家”的设计与制作。通过这一项目,学生们不仅在实践中学习了知识,更在创造中锻炼了思维,深刻体验了树人学校独特的项目式教学理念。
Recently, the middle school of Shuren School successfully implemented an educational project-based learning (PBL) course led by Ms. Peng Minxia. The theme of this project was the design and creation of a "Bird's Nest". Through this project, students not only learned knowledge in practice but also exercised their thinking through creation, deeply experiencing the unique PBL teaching philosophy of Shuren School.
在项目启动阶段,彭老师引导学生对校园内的小鸟进行了细致观察,并鼓励他们结合所学知识,如生物学、材料科学、环保理念等,进行创意构思。学生们被分为多个小组,每个小组都需要围绕“如何为小鸟设计一个舒适、安全的家园”这一核心问题,展开研究与设计。
At the initial stage of the project, Ms. Peng guided students to observe the birds on campus in detail and encouraged them to come up with creative ideas by combining their learned knowledge, such as biology, materials science, and environmental protection concepts. The students were divided into several groups, and each group needed to conduct research and design around the core question of "how to design a comfortable and safe home for birds".
在设计过程中,学生们充分发挥了他们的创新思维。有的小组注重模仿自然形态,使小鸟之家更加贴近自然;有的小组则更加注重环保与可持续性,采用了可回收或生物降解的材料;还有的小组在设计中融入了科技元素,如智能监控、自动喂食等,为小鸟提供了更加便捷的生活条件。
During the design process, students fully exerted their innovative thinking. Some groups focused on mimicking natural forms to make the bird's nest closer to nature; some groups paid more attention to environmental protection and sustainability, using recyclable or biodegradable materials; and some groups incorporated technological elements into their designs, such as smart monitoring and automatic feeding, providing more convenient living conditions for birds.
在制作阶段,学生们遇到了不少挑战,如材料选择、结构设计、功能实现等。但在彭老师的指导下,他们通过查阅资料、请教专业人士、反复试验等方式,逐渐克服了这些困难,最终完成了他们的作品。
During the production phase, students encountered many challenges, such as material selection, structural design, and functional implementation. However, under Ms. Peng's guidance, they gradually overcame these difficulties by consulting materials, seeking advice from professionals, and conducting repeated experiments, ultimately completing their works.
在展示课上,各小组展示了他们的作品,并详细阐述了设计理念、制作过程以及所遇到的困难与解决方案。展示过程中,学生们自信满满,展现出了他们在项目式学习中所获得的成长与进步。
During the presentation class, each group showcased their works and elaborated on their design concepts, production processes, and the difficulties encountered and solutions implemented. Throughout the presentation, the students were confident and demonstrated the growth and progress they achieved through PBL.
树人学校中学部的项目式教学理念主要体现在以下几个方面:

The PBL teaching philosophy of the middle school of Shuren School is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1.Interdisciplinary Integration: PBL encourages students to cross disciplinary boundaries and apply learned knowledge to practical problems. In the "Bird's Nest" project, students not only utilized biological knowledge but also covered multiple fields such as materials science, environmental protection concepts, and technological applications, achieving comprehensive interdisciplinary learning.
2.Practice and Exploration: PBL emphasizes students' practical abilities and inquisitive spirits. In the "Bird's Nest" project, students deepened their understanding of knowledge and exercised their practical and problem-solving skills through personally designing, producing, and presenting their works.
3.Teamwork: PBL focuses on teamwork and communication. In the "Bird's Nest" project, students needed to divide tasks and cooperate to complete the mission. This required them to learn to listen to others' opinions, respect others' ideas, and play to their strengths within the team.
4.Innovative Thinking: PBL encourages students to exert innovative thinking and imagination. In the "Bird's Nest" project, students' design works were distinctive, with some mimicking natural forms, some emphasizing environmental sustainability, and others incorporating technological elements. These innovative designs not only demonstrated students' creativity but also reflected their imagination and exploration of the future world.
